Senior class meetings are this Friday, December 6 during 2nd hour for students with last names A-L and afternoon co-ops and dual enrollment students and 5th hour for students last names M-z and morning co-ops or dual enrollment.   If you are not here during your appointed time, please attend the other meeting. Important information will be covered. Stay up to date with graduation information by looking at the Google Classroom for the Class of 2020 

 

REMINDER!

Ms. Mo’s 4th hour has first lunch today.

 

Happy Wednesday Key Clubbers! We have a meeting after 6th and 7th hour today, see you there!

 

Tis the Season, to make someone else's holiday bright!

 The annual toy drive is taking place now through Monday, December 16th. The FIRST HOUR class that collects the most toys will win doughnuts!

Dow High Poetry Club: "Verses the World" invites you to chill out today and write poetry at our meeting 3:30 p.m. - 4:00 pm. in room 346. 

 

Attention all senior boys, this year student leadership is hosting the first ever PowderBuff volleyball match against Midland High. Sign ups will run through this week and are first come first serve. The sign up sheet will be put in the office, and we will be taking the first 18 names on the sheet. If you have a question contact Hailey Tanis or Austin Urlaub

 

Special Olympics is back! The annual basketball tournament is going to be December 13 during 5th and 6th hour. There will be a sign up table at both lunches, or you can fill out the google form in your email. Contact Hailey Tanis with any questions!

 

 

 

 

Canada Club will NOT have a meeting today.  See you next week!

 

Battle of the Bands is THIS Friday, December 6th, at 7pm in the cafeteria. Tickets are for sale during both lunches and at the door, $5 for students and $7 for adults. 65% of the proceeds are going to charity. Come cheer on your favorite band and support a great cause! 

 

There is a Student Council meeting this Thursday at 7:00 in room 323. We will be discussing holiday service project ideas, tshirts, and our plans for the December 19 meeting. If you've been attending meetings and can't make it please let Ms. Berg or Senora Meyer know. If you haven't attended yet, it's not too late to start!"

 

Pop cans, pop cans, pop cans! The end date for the pop can drive got changed to Thursday, December 5th. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please try to bring in as many pop cans you can to your third hour class to help Student Leadership plan more fun events. The winning class will receive popcorn on Friday, December 6th.

 

Dows Dunkin Doughnuts: 

Glazed, sprinkled, cream filled chocolate doughnuts, you name it we sell it. MMMHHH all that sounds so delicious. Student Leadership will officially be selling fresh doughnuts This thursday December 5th. Don't forget your dollar for Dows dunkin doughnuts!

 

 

Dow High leadership is holding a gingerbread house competition! all you need to do is make a gingerbread house and send in photos to either Isabella McDaniel or Dana Salisbury by the 13th of December. Once all the photos have been sent in the best house for each grade will be voted on. Whichever grade wins will earn class points! Get to decorating chargers!

 

Want to show off your holiday spirit? Deck the halls is here! If participating, third hour classroom will be in charge of decorating their doors. Later, the school will vote on the best decorated classroom door and the winner will be announced at the Christmas assembly. You can begin decorating whenever, but you must be done by the 12th of December because all voting begins the 16th and ends the 18th.  Happy Decorating Chargers!!!

 

There will be a Spanish Club Meeting this Friday, December 6th after 7th hour in room 375.  Feel free to come earlier for socializing and snacks.  Current students, previous students, future students, or anyone interested is invited to join us!

 

Prezza prezza prezza!

Attention Chargers, prezza is here once again! Pre-ordered pizza will be available for purchase until Tuesday December 10th, and will be delivered on Thursday, December 12th to your third hour teacher. Remember that you must order AND pay before Tuesday December 10th, and your order is only guaranteed once you pay. Pizza is available in either pepperoni or cheese, and it is $10 per pizza. There is no limit, so order as much as you want! Be sure to contact Emily Danielsen or Kristin Sekely to secure your order!

 

Happy national cookie day chargers! In celebration, the charger Shoppe will be giving away some free cookies. If your bag has a dot on the bottom, show a manager and you will receive a free bag of cookies

The JV Girls basketball team lost a close game to Freeland last night 28-30.  Leading the way for the Chargers were: Jenna Butcher with 8 points & 5 rebounds, Abbey Ieuter with 6 points, Alaina Schalk with 5 points,  Lindsay Hart with 4 points and 10 rebounds, Lauren Burgard & Sydney Bond each with 2 points and Sydona Parks with 1 point.    

 

The Girls Varsity Basketball team opened the season with a 42-26 win over Freeland on Tuesday night. Leading the way was Jada Garner with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Also with big contributions were Abby scored 9 points and Alyssa Keptner had 7 rebounds.
