PSAT 8/9 and PSAT/10

PSAT 8/9

The PSAT 8/9 is the first in the SAT Suite of Assessments; it is aligned with the PSAT 10, PSAT/NMSQT and the SAT. The PSAT 8/9 provides a baseline which allows students and educators to gauge performance over time and pinpoints areas that need to be strengthened.

The PSAT 8/9 consists of an evidence-based reading and writing test and a math test.

The PSAT 8/9 is required for all Michigan 9th graders and will be taken either on April 14, 15 or 16, 2020 as part of the state summative assessments. The high school determines on which of these two dates the test will be administered.

In addition, the PSAT 8/9 will be required for the first time for all Michigan 8th graders and will be administered on April 14, 2020.

The SAT Suite of Assessments reports a vertical scale score so that students and educators can measure growth
