Congratulations to the Debate team that competed at the Groves Invitational this past weekend and sweep the tournament.   The varsity team of Tayce Shamamian and Faith Tabler won the varsity division going undefeated for the entire weekend. Tayce also won 1st varsity speaker's overall and Faith placed 2nd.  The JV team of Noah Black and Rehan Manjila also swept their division placing 1st overall. In addition, Rehan Manjila won 2nd speaker overall in JV. Great job Dow debaters! 

 

The Charger Shoppe is happy to announce that we are now selling green and gold

Attention Salsa Seniors!

 

Auditions for Senior Salsation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 24th at 2:00pm in the Gold Gym loft. You will not be judged on your dancing skills, rather your dedication to learning the dance. Sign ups are in the office and you will have the opportunity to sign up until Friday. If you can’t make the audition but still want to try out, please contact Lillian Pressnell or Liam Mcleod.

 

 

Just a reminder that there is a student council meeting this Thursday at 7 am in Ms. Berg’s room. We’re looking forward to seeing the new officers at work in their positions. However, no need to be previously involved to attend this meeting. We are always excited to welcome new members and ideas. See you there!

 

If you are in 11th or 12th grade and interested in taking the ASVAB test, please sign up in Google Classroom under Class of 2020 or 2021.  This is the military entrance exam as well as a career interest inventory.  The test will be given at Dow High next Tuesday, November 26. Please stop in the counseling office if you have any questions.

 

 

 

Hey Science enthusiasts ,  Dow High's Science Olympiad Team will be having an informational meeting on Thursday the 21st after 6th and 7th hours in Mr McNamara's room 109.  The meeting will not last long. Please come and join the fun.

 

Congratulations to everyone who tried out for RenFair! The judges saw some amazing auditions, and it was very difficult to narrow it down to our final list of performers. That list of 2020 RenFair acts is posted in the main office and on the door to the orchestra room. Congratulations again! The school can't wait to see you perform on January 24

 

 

 

Hey key clubbers! Along with our normal after 6th hour and 7th hour meeting today, we are also taking a group photo right before our 7th hour meeting so members that usually attend the after 6th hour meeting that would like to be apart of the picture make sure to stay a little after the meeting to participate!  


 

Spanish Club will meet on Friday, November 22nd in room 375 DURING 7th hour and again AFTER 7th hour for those students who can't come earlier. Current students, future students , and anyone else is welcome to join Spanish Club!

 

IB Juniors and Seniors, the next IB Mentor Center Meeting will be Tuesday, November 26 after 7th Hour in the Media Center. We will be discussing IA's and the IOP.

 

 

 

The Drama Club will be performing Shakespeare's The Tempest on November 21st, 22nd, and 23rd at 7pm. Tickets will be sold at both lunches outside of the office. Student and senior citizen tickets cost $6 and adult tickets cost $8.

We look forward to putting on a great Fall show!

Performances will be held at Central Auditorium.



 

It’s starting to look like winter chargers. If you have fun in the snow, Alpine Club may be the club for you! We will have a meeting this Thursday to discuss our first trip of the year. The meeting will be after both 6th and 7th hour in room 129B. Skiers and snowboarders of all abilities are welcome! See you there!"

 

Book club will meet this Thursday in Ms. Nelson's room (304) after 7th hour. New members are always welcome. Hope to see you there!

 

 

 

 

Sports

 

Girls Soccer

There will be an informational meeting this Thursday, November 21st at 3:00 in Mr. Watkins room for anyone interested in trying out for the girl’s soccer team. The meeting should take approximately 30 minutes. See you there!

 

 

 

 

 

Bowling tryouts will be today and  tomorrow at Northern Lanes from 3:30 pm - 5 pm.  There is a $10.00 fee for tryouts.
