If you’ve been moved by or curious about the recent and ongoing Flint Water Crisis and not only want to learn more about it, but to DO something about it, join Booked for Lunch, a 5-session lunchtime book club for this year’s Great Michigan Read entitled What the Eyes Don’t See: A Story of Crisis, Resistance, and Hope in an American City by Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha.  Dr. Hanna-Attisha saw first-hand how the contaminated water affected, and continues to affect, her patients and their families.

Booked for Lunch will take place during both lunches, 5x throughout the next few weeks, and will involve reading and discussing the text and more.

If interested, so that we can get an accurate count for book distribution, see Ms. Hilliard in room 319 to place your name on a sign-up sheet by Friday, October 11th.

We hope you will join us for this “compelling and engaging story about individual and community activism and advocacy.”
