Mock Trial

 

Do you like proving your parents wrong in every single argument? Do you like acting like a character without having to sing? Do you like always being right? If you said yes to any of these questions, then you should join Dow’s newest club! Mock trial is where you get to compete against other schools in mock court cases. Come join our informational meeting after 6th hour on Thursday the 19th, in Mr. Richard’s room 306!

Information about the MSU Poetry Contest and MSU Fiction Contest is now available. The deadline for submissions is Friday, October 18. Please see your English teacher for more information and GOOD LUCK!

 

Club Med

 

Interested in a career in the medical field? Want to learn more about the medical field through discussion and guest speaker presentations? Join us today after sixth hour in Ms.Kuznicki’s room, room 129A, for the first Club Med meeting of the year. Looking forward to seeing you there!

 

Hoco Tickets

 

Times flying by so you know what’s coming around the corner ...HOMECOMING! But what you don’t know is  that it’s October 5th from 7- 10. Ticket sales will be starting on October 1st with tickets being available during BOTH lunches, for $8. But get your ticket when we start selling them at school, because it’ll be $10 at the door!

 

Student Council

 

Everyone with ideas on how to improve the school experience, come to Ms. BerG's room 323 TOMORROW, Thursday morning, at 7 am with your energy and suggestions and take part in the Dow High Student Council--The Voice of Dow High.  This week's focus will be homecoming. All are welcome to attend, and there will be donuts and bananas.

A H Nickless 

 

The  A H Nickless Innovation competition is now open for registration.  This competition encourages students to work in teams, think innovatively, and be passionate about STEM subjects and skills.  Winners of this competition will receive a $5000 scholarship and a $20,000 technology grant for the school. Gay and Straight Club

 

"Attention Dow High students:  The Gay Straight Alliance will be holding its first meeting on Thursday, September 19 in room 217 at 3:30.  GSA is open to any student seeking a friendly, supportive environment in the company of great people. Once again, the first GSA meeting will be on Thursday, September 19 at 3:30 in room 217. If you are unable to make this meeting, come down to room 217 to meet your staff advisors after 6th hour."

 

Chemistry Club

 

Attention all chemistry enthusiasts! If you want to take part in all things chemistry, be sure you attend one of our informational meetings either tomorrow after school or next Tuesday after school. Meetings will take place after both 6th and 7th hour. The first informational chemistry club meeting scheduled for after school today has been canceled. Come see us in room 129B and see what we are all about!

 

Yoga Club

 

Hey students! We hope you had a great summer break. If you want a good place to calm down after all your classes, our new yoga club is just for you! An informational meeting will be held in room 304 after seventh hour. See you there!

It was a program sweep for the Dow Volleyball Program Last night

 

Freshman won in 2 sets: 25-13, 25-18

 

JV won in 3 sets jv volleyball was victorious on the road over Flint Powers last night. Abby Rey led the charge with 6 kills. Halle Reid and Summer Luick added 4 kills each.  Summer chalked up 3 vicious stuff blocks to shut down power's hitters. Scoring aces were Summer, Grace Militello, Makena Saylor, and AHalle added 2. Makena led the team with 8 assists.

 

Varsity won in 3 sets: 25-21, 25-14, 25-17

 

Francesca Queary led the team in kills with 13, Laura Hershauer had 21 assists and 3 aces along with Jenna Somers who had 12 digs on the night.

 

Tomorrow is our home match against conference opponent Bay City Western. JV/F at 5:30 pm and varsity at 7:00 pm
