R...E...D -- Remember Everyone Deployed


The Dow High Football Team is holding their annual Military Appreciation Night game is tonight Friday, September 13th at home against Bay City Central.  Please join us in supporting our veteran and active duty military personnel. You can show your support by making donations or buying R.E.D t-shirts at the game tonight. You can also show your support and your Charger SPIRIT by wearing red, white, and blue tonight at the game.


Looking for a fun way to show your spirit on Friday's Red, White and Blue day? The Charge Robotics is selling red, white, and blue Pura Vida bracelets at Dow High this week. Bracelets are $5 each and you can get them at lunch today after school until 4 p.m.. Help support Dow High Robotics and get a cool USA bracelet in return!




GO GREEN is holding a greenhouse workday this Saturday, Sept 14! Drop in anytime between 10am-4pm, but please sign up on google classroom, and remember to wear work clothes and bring gloves.


The next GO GREEN meeting is Monday, Sept 16th after 6th hour, from 2:30-3:00.... and after 7th hour, from 3:30-4:00 in room 220. We will be discussing upcoming projects and making reusable T-shirt bags ....and, yes, there will be snacks!!

Powder Puff


Attention all Junior and Senior girls! We will be holding our first ever homecoming powderpuff game on Wednesday, October 2nd, at the Midland stadium. This will be a civil, flag football game against each other. Spots are limited so sign up using the link sent to your school email. If you have any questions please contact Rihana Syed or Michelle Charles.

Student Council


Do you feel like you don’t have a voice in school? Sick of the same people and adults making all the decisions? Interested in helping with homecoming? Come to room 323 on September 19th at 7 am with your ideas and suggestions and take part in the first meeting for 2019-2020 of the Dow High Student Council--The Voice of Dow High. EVERYONE is welcome to attend and join! Remember, just like with democracy, if you don't participate, you don't get to complain. 




The Dow High Math Club will begin meeting this week. Our first meeting will be today Friday, Sept 13th after 7th hour (at 3:30) in the CEC computer lab (room 140). We will have snacks and make plans for what we want to do this school year.  Please see Mrs. White if you have any questions.

The Freshmen football 


 Lost to Bay City Central by the score of 24 - 38.  Jack Bakus threw touchdowns to Anthony Coleman and Zach Parker.  Coleman also ran for a touchdown. The two point conversions were scored by Coleman, Bakus and Austin Benchley.  Leaders on defense were Cole Bailey and Bakus. The team will combine with the JV team to face Bay City John Glenn next Thursday.




Freshman - lost in 3 sets

won 26-24 first game, lost 19-25 second game and lost 10-15 3rd game.  Sydney had 10 assists, Libby had 10 digs, Maddy and Jade each scored 7 points.


Varsity - won in 3 sets

1st game - 25-12

2nd game - 25-23

3rd game - 25-23


Thank you to everyone coming and supporting Dow Volleyball last night.  Once again it was a great atmosphere by the Dow High Student section, you guys helped carry us to the win last night! On the night Francesca Queary had 10 kills & 2 aces, Alyssa Keptner had 5 kills & 6 blocks and Gabrielle Wilson had 6 kills, 2 blocks, & 2 aces.




Dow's JV moved to 10-0-1, and 3-0-0 in the SVL North with a 8-0 win at Mt Pleasant.  Hayden Baus and Chip Shumaker led the way in goal, and Justin Schafer, Adam Pfeiffer, and Ian Metzler led the defense to earn the team's 9th shutout. 


Sam Senkowski and Jack Wolohan led the attack with 2 goals each, while Tyler Huber, Justin Schafer, Isaac Skinner, and Santiago Lopez each chipped in a goal. 


Isaac Skinner had 2 assists on the night, while Jack Wolohan, Danny Safadi, Adam Pfeiffer, Ian Metzler, and Sean Hansen each had an assist.  


JV volleyball


 Defeated Mount Pleasant in straight sets last night at our home match.  our defense only gave up 9 kills in the victory. Leading the team on defense were Grace Militello with 10 digs, Allison Miller with 15 digs, and Halle Reid with 14.  Abby Rey had 4 kills and Halle Reid and Jessica Erickson added 3 each. Setters Makena Saylor and Alex Price turned some sketchy passes into golden assists!
