Student Council

 

 

Do you hate school? Do you feel like you don’t have a voice in the school? Come to room 323 on May 23rd at 7 am  for the NEW Student Council. Everyone is welcome to join “The Voice of Dow High”! There will be donuts and bananas.

 

The Dow High Spring Car Show will be held today during both lunches.

 

Juniors

Juniors are able to apply for a leadership camp this summer at Camp Rotary on June 16 - 20.  The Midland Rotary Noon Club will pay for 3 juniors to attend this leadership camp. If interested, pick up a packet in counseling or the main office today!

Popcorn Friday

 

It's Popcorn and Sweet Treat Friday, Chargers!!  Come at lunch and buy something yummy to top your Friday off just right!  To celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, we will be giving staff a FREE POPCORN!!

Bracelets to support

All around the world, animals are abused and mistreated in zoos and aquariums. Animals in captivity is real and getting worse. Contact Bizzy Haydanek or Kourtney Fischer to buy a bracelet to save the animals starting Thursday, May 9th. All proceeds will be donated to Freedom For Animals organization to help keep animals out of captivity.

Blood Drive

Attention staff and students! Do you want to make a difference in the lives of others? if so, come on out to the blood drive Friday, May 17th that will be held in the loft all day during school. Sign up outside the office during both lunches or talk to Izzy Velasquez, Emma Meitler, Sydney Block, or Logan McNamara about more details! Let's save some lives chargers!

 

German Clubbers

 

Attention German Clubbers! The big day is almost here--the day of our German Poetry Slam Event. Bring your poem down to room 377 on Tuesday after 7th hour and impress us with your interpretation. You might just win a prize! See you on Tuesday at 3:30 for the German Club Poetry Slam.


 

WALK FOR WATER

 

    Join us for a Walk for Water on Saturday May 11th at 9am on the Dow High Track to simulate the walk that women and children make everyday to provide their families with their water source.

Food Drive

Tolu Oshin, Damon Belding, and Colton Boguszewski of Sra. Bonotto's 2nd hour class are holding a food drive to raise awareness about global poverty. It will run from Monday the 6th to Friday the 10th. Donated goods can be dropped off in Sra. Bonotto's room, room 367. You can also donate bottled water, and if you would like to donate money, contact Tolu Oshin. Our goal is 100 cans of canned goods. We know we can do it!".

Coleman Agriscience Center is hosting an Open House Saturday

May 11th

11 AM - 1 PM

Flower sales - Barn and Greenhouse tours - Family activities and a free pulled pork lunch.


 

 

SPORTS

 

 

The tennis team won the Valley Championship yesterday for the 22nd time in a row!  Winning their flights were Zoe Angell, Savannah Matuszewski, Laura Leiti, Claire Earley, Reema Patel, Victoria Leiti, Mallory Matthews, Emily Telgenhoff, Olivia Cross and Salma Elsaadany.  Congratulations on a terrific tournament.
