Prom Tickets

Mark your calendar! Prom is May 4th.We will be selling tickets from April 8 to April 20 before school and after. Tickets will be sold for 55 dollars apiece.

 

Remember that everyone in your party has to pay for their tickets at the same time. Also, the tables seats 10 so buy your tickets sooner than later to insure that your party gets to sit together. doors will open at 5:30 and close at 6:15. If you have any questions you can ask the ticket selling table before and after school.

 

Senior Project

Do you know what tomorrow is? It is the Senior Project Community Fair! You can explore a variety of topics first through sixth hour, observing second lunch, in the green gym. Make plans to attend this annual event.

 

Attention Seniors -  Jostens Info.

Jostens reps will be here Monday April 15th 10 AM - 1 PM to deliver announcements, and announcements only.

Reps will return on May 7th for Cap and Gown distribution.

 

Yearbook

 

Listen up charger! Have you forgotten to order your yearbook? If so, no worries! The yearbook staff has decided to extend the deadline for pre-ordering until April 12th 2019! Orders can be done online at yearbookordercenter.com or through an order form that can be found in front of room 218 or in the main office. Please turn in forms to room 218.

 

Prom Fashion Show

Listen up Chargers! With Prom just around the corner it’s time to start getting ready for that big night.

With the help of Men’s Wearhouse, Lil Pear Tree, and The Mane Hair Co., Dow High Merchandising classes are hosting the Annual Prom Fashion Show, next Monday, April 15th, during both lunches.

The show will provide inspiration for dresses, tuxes, hair, and floral arrangements to ensure that this prom is the best one yet! Remember: the Prom Fashion Show is next Monday, April 15th, during both lunches… we’ll see you there!

 

Top Quartet

 

Congratulations to Caleb Qiu, Abigail Ahn, Tia Li, and Nathaniel Kalantar! Their string quartet was selected as the top string quartet in the state of Michigan by the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association. They will be featured in a performance at the Michigan Youth Arts Festival on May 11.

Sports

The coach of the Great Lakes Bay high school rowing team will be at school Tuesday, April 16 during Lunches and immediately after 6th Hour to talk about how to get involved in the crew and why it's a good idea, i.e. awesome team sport, make friends, and possibly get a college scholarship. The meeting will take place in the Gold Gym.

The Dow High Girls and Boys Track Teams got off to a good start in their first full meet of the year.  The Girls beat Bay City Central and Saginaw Arthur Hill by a score of 82 to 74 to 10. The Boys won easily over both schools with a score of 119.5 to 30.5 to 25.

 

The girls won 3 of the 4 relay races with a lot of other 1st place finishes.  Scoring for Dow were Jada Garner, Shae Rogers, Isabella Rhee, Maitea Cox, Heleyna Tucker, Brooklyn Duranceau, Monica Thill, Morgan Carn, Megan Churm, Brea Lincoln, Gena Guirrieri, Ana Tucker, Lauren Burgard, Mikaila Brubaker, Adaeze Okoro, Serena Olney, Alexa Kolnitys, and Rachel Weldy.

 

Dow had 31 boys scoring points in the meet and won all 4 relay races.  Scoring for Dow were Sam Strouse, Noah Reuter-Gushow, Julien Theuerkauf, Nathan Burgard, Andrew Hales, Joshua Burr, Jacob Hansen, Josiah Burr, Nike Butcher, River Penn, Andrew Selle, Adam Wolok, Ethan Meehle, Max Morey, Garrett Daniels, Nick Soto, Carter Kohtz, Nate Rhee, Mike Rettelle, Jordan Plewa, Drake Killinger, Ethan Ells, Zack Coon, Mason Prather, Ryan Sage, Daniel Watkins, Josh Kaiser, Ryan Christensen, Braden Weick, Carson Jankens, and Owen McCaffrey.

Baseball and softball games have been cancelled for today.  JV soccer is also cancelled, but Varsity soccer will play at Auburn Dome at 6 PM.

 

Varsity Baseball team will meet

in the loft at 3:30 today for
