H.H.Dow High School
Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Congratulations to the approximately 350 Dow High students who participated in MSBOA District 5 Band and Orchestra Festival this weekend. The Symphonic Band, Gold Band, Green Band, Symphony Orchestra, and Concert Orchestra all received 1st division ratings for superior performances. In addition to receiving 1st division ratings overall, each ensemble earned “straight 1s,” meaning every single judge who heard them gave them a first division rating. Way to go Dow High!

Two nuclear states, India and Pakistan, are tobogganing toward war and will be a major focal point for the MRD’s upcoming meeting this Tuesday alongside a discussion on the demonstrations aiming to free Wikileaks founder Julian Assange from the Ecuadorian embassy led by the International Committee of the Fourth International. To be clear, the latter discussion is focused on the objective elements of these demonstrations and the conditions of Jullian Assage’s role and position on the international stage; the MRD takes no official position on the figure of Julian Assange. We would like to welcome all sides of the political spectrum for both of these discussions in order to truly understand and explore the objective conditions of the issues and the views on them. If anyone has any ideas for other subject matter they’d like the MRD to discuss in the future you can always contact Luke Mavis through email to submit your ideas. For those of you interested in this week’s discussion topics, please join us in the Little Theater this Tuesday from 3:00 to 4:15 after school.
Let’s never forget to keep moving toward knowledge together!
