Rescheduled AMC MATH


The AMC math test that was to be given yesterday has been rescheduled for next Wednesday, Feb 13th. It will be administered during 1st & 2nd hours in the cafeteria. If you are interested in practicing for the AMC, the Dow High Math Club will meet today after school at 3:30 and we will go over items that were on the test that was to be given yesterday. We meet in room 140 every Friday.




Love reading and yearn for a life on the stage? Love acting, but hate memorizing lines?  Our Reader's Theatre Troupe is for you! Join us at the Grace A. Dow Library, Tuesday, Feb. 12, 19, and 26 at 6:30pm in the Youth Services Area.  Please call to register at the Youth Services Desk at 989-937-3466. Open to students in grades 6-12.


Candy Grams


Valentine's Day is coming up next Thursday! Candy grams will be sold at both lunches through next Wednesday. Ring pops are one dollar and Hershey kisses are two dollars. Support Dow High journalism and the literary magazine Fragments!

Well, this is your chance.

 It’s that time of year again.  

We will be holding auditions for the 2019-2020 announcement team.

If you are a CURRENT sophomore or junior and would like to audition, please sign up in the main office.  The last day to sign up will be Thursday, March 22nd with auditions being held April 15th and 16th.


Sign-up sheet is on the counter in the main office.  


The first 12 students to sign up will be able to audition so DON’T DELAY!!!


Model UN


Attention Model UN members! Due to the recent snowdays, we will be having our meeting on Tuesday the 12th. We will be picking countries for MSU. If you do not attend or let Lillian Pressnell know which country you'd like for MSU, you will be assigned one. This meeting is mandatory! See you Tuesday after 6th hour.


Talent auditions will be held this Wednesday and Thursday the 13th and 14th in the Little Theater.


Hey muggle world! The Harry Potter Quidditch Match fundraiser for the American Cancer Society is on Sunday, February 24 from 1-3 pm. We need people to sign up to play!  You can find the sign-up sheets in the office, around the hallways and in the charger shop. Each grade represents a Hogwarts house; freshman Hufflepuff, sophomores Gryffindor, juniors Ravenclaw, and seniors are Slytherin. Please play for your house/grade because the winning grade will win the Quidditch cup!  Please contact Isabella McDaniel if you have any questions.

German Clubbers

Attention German Clubbers: It's the second week of the Month and that means it's German Club time. Come down after 7th hour on Tuesday to room 377 for German Club. We're getting ready for our karaoke event later in the month, and you don't want to miss out on that. So come to room 377 on Tuesday after 7th hour and get your karaoke on! No talent required!

Singing Valentines

Hey, Chargers! The Midland High Meistersingers are now taking orders for Singing Valentines. If you want to tell that special someone, a friend, a family member, or even your teacher just how much they mean to you, this is the perfect way to do so! Valentines are $10 for a delivery to Midland or Dow High, $15 for elsewhere, and an extra $3 for the delivery of a carnation. The President of the Meistersingers will be in the hallway outside the cafeteria TODAY after both sixth and seventh hours to take your orders. You can also print off a form from the Meistersinger Facebook page and give it to the Midland High main office or your favorite Meistersinger.


Are you interested in mental health advocacy? Want to get involved in school events regarding mental health? Come to MIA tomorrow after 7th hour in Mrs. Snyder's Room 303! We will be talking about mental health issues in the school and discuss various MIA events that we have planned! Remember, come to Mrs. Snyder's room 303 tomorrow after 7th hour!


Hey chargers! The Dow High Equestrian team will be having its first meeting for the 2019 show season on Wednesday, February 13th at 6pm in the media center. If you’re interested in competing with the team or if you like horses and want to help out, we want you! Please contact Isabella McDaniel or Kaitlyn Sieg for more information.

Juniors and Co-op

Calling all JUNIORS interested in co-oping next year! There will be informational meetings on February 13th at 7:15 and 2:30 in room 353. If you are thinking about co-op or have questions about co-op opportunities this meeting is for you!


Hey everybody! Go Green has a meeting TODAY, Monday, Feb 11 at 3:30 in room 220.

We will be discussing building a "green wall' or two at Dow High, our upcoming field trip to Midland Recyclers, and a super cool project that's in the works for Earth Week!


Come, bring a friend, share your ideas, and get involved!!


Special Olympics
"Hey chargers, Special Olympics is this Friday! If you are planning on playing in this years tournament make sure you have filled out the new sign up form. Contact Hailey Tanis with any questions, see you all Friday!

"Attention all Charger Chefs, our next meeting is this Wednesday! Come join us for some delicious mac n cheese during both lunches. Bring your friends and an empty stomach!"






On Saturday, the Charger hockey team defeated Mt. Pleasant; 6-0.  Alec Newton led the way with 2 goals. The other goals were scored by Austin Ieuter, Luke Blasy, Joey Johnson and Lucas Churchfield.  Luke Blasy had 2 assists while John Wagner, Shane Astrike and Joey Johnson each added 1 assist.

Mark Fishman stopped all 19 Oiler shots to earn the shutout.

The hockey team plays this Wednesday versus Flint Powers.




Dow High Boys lost to Saginaw Heritage 19-11, they won both of their Baker games.Bruce Matthews shot a 173 to win the only Peterson game, Matthews also shot a 160 and Mathais Bartels had a 151.


In our second match for the day they lost to Saginaw Public 21-9, Logan Lorenz shot

a 128 & 145 winning both of his Peterson games, for other Peterson wins

Mathais Bartels shot a 160, Tyler Shuster 161 and Bruce Matthews a 150.


On the Girls side they lost to Saginaw Heritage Hawks 16-14 winning one of their Baker Games, The following girls each won a Peterson game Lena Burton with a 112,Kiara Ekdahl a 145, Samantha Klein a 135, Allison Leslie a 162 and Rebecca White a 168.


In their second match they won against Saginaw Public 29-1 they won both of their Baker games. High Games shot for the day were Allison Leslie 189, Rebecca White 150, Breanna Prince 140.


Good Luck Boys JV and Varsity Basketball playing at Meridian tonight and good luck Wrestling team who competes at Districts tonight at Bay City Central.
