Toys for Tots

 

Tis the season for Toys for Tots! Calling all 3rd hour classes to gather as many new, unwrapped, toys as you can to make children in Midland County have a very Merry Holiday! The class who collects the most toys will win doughnuts courtesy of Dow High DECA and Midland's newest Bakery - The Sticky Paw.

 

Collection runs through December 14th so pick up a few toys while you're out shopping on Black Friday!

 

Talent Show

 

Can you or someone you know juggle? How about solve a rubix cube? Sing, dance, or act too? If you answered yes to any of those questions than you should audition for the first ever Dow High´s got talent show. Auditions will be held on January 30 through 31st from 2:30-5:00 in the little theater. If you have any questions please contact Rihana Syed and Maya Al-Ahmad.

 

Seniors:

 

Remember that senior photos are due to the yearbook by Friday, November 30. Photos should be submitted by the photographer in order for the yearbook to have permission to publish the image. If you have any questions about the photo or whether you a submitted image on file, please see Mrs. Hall in room 218.  

 

MUN

 

Attention MUN members! We will have our next MANDATORY meeting on Monday, December 3rd. It should last about an hour. We will be deciding countries and costs for the Oakland University conference. Have questions? Talk to Lillian Pressnell or Mrs. Bushey.

 

GSA

 

''Attention all GSA members, please head to the library after school so we can discuss shirts for the club. Also any staff members if you're interested in purchasing a shirt from the club, please get contact  Grayson Clements or Mr. Chambers, and please check out our instagram for more updates which is gsadowhigh.

 

Make a Wish

 

Chargers – please visit the hallway by the Charger Shoppe today during lunches and buy some products that the Marketing students are selling – all profits are being donated to Make-A-Wish!

GO GREEN will be meeting today at 3:30 in room 220.

New faces and ideas are always welcome.... and yes, of course there will be snacks :)

 

 

Key Club

 

"Loved the bands in Renfair?  Well you are in luck! You will be able to see these bands again at Key Club´s Battle of the Bands.  Mark your calendars, this exciting night is taking place on December 14th at 7pm in the Dow High Cafeteria. "


 

Alpine Club

 

Did the snow day get you excited for winter? Come to the first meeting of alpine club today after 6th and 7th hour in Mr Colvin's room - room 129B. See what we are all about!

 

Attention Seniors:

 

The commencement committee is now taking names for any senior interested in being a student commencement speaker for the Class of 2019. There is a sign-up sheet in the main office. You will have until December 21 at 3 pm. to sign up. You must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. There is a process to get from the sign-up list down to two speakers for the ceremony. If you sign-up, you will hear about this process.  Good luck!

 


Congrats Dow High Hockey team!

 

Last night your Charger hockey team opened up its season by defeating the Bay City Wolves; 4-1. Goals were scored by Mason Reed, Cam Patty, Alec Newton and Luke Blasy.  

Austin Ieuter had 2 assists while Lucas Churchfield, Joey Johnson, Mason Reed and Luke Blasy each added 1 assist. Mark Fishman was the winning goaltender stopping 11 of 12 Bay City shots. The Chargers next game is away this Friday versus East Grand Rapids.
