Happy birthday IB!  Today we join 4,960 other IB World Schools in celebrating 50 years of the IB Program. Stop by the media center during either lunch to grab a piece of candy and check out what Chargers are doing to celebrate 50 years of IB!  

Go Green!


Attention Dow High. This is another friendly reminder that the blue bins in the cafeteria are for recyclables only. Please place all food waste and other non- recyclables in the grey bins only, so that we can continue to Go Green!


Math Club


The Math Club will meet again this Friday, Oct 26th, after 7th hour (from 3:30-4:15). We meet in CEC computer lab (room 140) and will be preparing for upcoming math competitions

Hey Chargers!


Get ready for a new issue of The Update! This month, some of the stories include: Mental health days, a look into the aftermath of the Flint Water Crisis, a comparison between male and female sports, and many more! Also, check out The Update Online for a review of apple orchards in the area! Teachers, be on the lookout for an email with discussion questions to use as discussion topics in your third hour class! The issue comes out this Friday, October 26.



If you have not ordered your 2019 yearbook yet don't forget that the lowest price of the year will expire on Wednesday, October 31. Order forms are available in the main office, outside room room 218 or you can order online at Please remember that we must receive your order and payment by next Wednesday in order for you to get the price of $55. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Hall in room 218.


Bible Study group will meet in room 115 after school today, Thursday.  Eat SNACKs and discuss the Bible in a relevant and organized format!!!!  Anyone interested is welcome!




Calling all GSA members, This Thursday we will be having a Netflix marathon. Please bring your favorite mugs, blankets, pillows and drinks to stay cozy! We will also be having some snacks to celebrate the fall season too.




GSA is calling all LGBT+ supportive staff members or teachers to help out of supervising the club every week on Thursdays, please contact Grayson Clements, Amelia Mylvaganam or Mr. Chambers if you're able to help out to host the club. It's very important that we have a supervisor for the club


Book Drive:


A book drive is being held to help Northwood's "Go MAD" day of service.

There is a box for collection of books outside the main office!

Please donate any used children's books you have --- they will go to those in need!

Ren Fair

Tickets are on sale now for RenFair 2018/2019!

Celebrate our Charger spirit with over 350 students performing a variety of acts that showcase the incredible talent at Dow High— drama, vocal and instrumental soloists, rock bands, dance, prose, group musical performances and more!

RenFair is fun and family friendly! Buy your tickets now at the MCFTA ticket office. All proceeds support the music programs at Dow High.



Attention anyone interested in trying out for the 2018-2019 Dow Charger hockey team:


There will be a meeting this Thursday at 2:35 pm in Mr. Blasy's room; room 134.


Please get your Charger Card turned in ASAP!  No card - no ice.


Attention JV volleyball.   Uniform turn in is Monday, Oct 29th.  Please bring them to Student Services and sign off next to your name!




Bowling Tryouts are November 12th,13th &14th from 3:30 - 5 at Northern Lanes.  Cost for tryouts will be $10 per person.




Mrs. Jines will be selling tickets for our Football Playoff Game on Friday @ Flushing on Thursday and Friday from 7-3:00 in the main office.  Tickets are $6.00 and she can only accept cash for these tickets. Come support our team at Flushing on Friday @ 7:00 pm!
