NHS

 

This month's National Honor Society meeting will be Thursday, October 11 for about twenty minutes, which both probationary and inducted members are expected to attend one of. The times are 7:10 in the Little Theater, after sixth hour in the cafeteria, and after seventh hour in the Little Theater. Plan to arrive before 7:10 for the morning meeting.

 

MUN

 

Are you interested in global issues such as human rights, politics, the environment, and the economy? Then join Model United Nations! This year we will be going to conferences at Michigan State and Oakland University. Our spots are limited, so if you are interested, please join us for a meeting on Monday, October 22nd.

 

Chem Club

Chemistry club is having its first meeting this Tuesday! Meetings are held after sixth and seventh hour in Mr. Colvin's room, room 129B. All students who have taken or are taking any chemistry class are welcome to join. Bring your ideas about labs or experiments you want to see. We hope to see you there!"

 

Please donate used or new soccer gear! There will be a green collection bin for the soccer gear for the next three weeks in front of the office. The gear will be donated to the US Soccer Foundation, Passback program for an Eagle Scout Project. Thank you!


 

Attention German Clubbers!

Our Oktoberfest celebration is taking place tomorrow after school. Come on down after seventh hour for food, music and friends, and we'll celebrate Bavarian culture. We'll also organize our Lip Dub entry for Midland-Dow week. So come down Tuesday after 7th hour and be part of the fun of German Club!


 

SPORTS

 

There will be no wrestling workout after school today, workouts will resume Wednesday at 3.

Tryouts are done individually and are closed.

 

The Freshmen Football team shut out Bay City Western last week with a score of 28-0.  Once again the defense played outstanding. Daniel Kowalczyk had a fumble recover and BJ Horn & AJ Fang had an interception.  Touchdowns were scored by Evan Chronowski, Dawson Studelbaker, Carter Kohtz and Tucker Pomranky. The team is now 5-2 and host Mt. Pleasant on Thursday.  

 

The Dow High Cross Country Team competed in the Heritage Invitational on Saturday.  The Girls Varsity came in 3rd out of 18 teams and were lead by a 3rd place finish by Ana Tucker.  Also scoring for the girls were Isabella Rhee, Megan Churm, Heleyna Tucker, and Tristan Luick.

 

The Boys Varsity team was 8th out of 21 team and were paced by a 5th place finish by Josiah Burr.  Also scoring for the boys were Peter Kozerski, Nathan Burgard, Nick Bloom and River Penn.

 

The JV Girls team finished in 6th place with a 11th place finish for Joey Meilink and a 12th place finish form Monica Thill.  Also scoring for Dow in the JV race were Caroline Ford, Gena Guerrieri, and Rachel Welding.

The JV Boys team finished in 4th lead by a 15th place finish by Aidan Murphy.  Also scoring for Dow in the JV race were Ethan Ells, Evan Trotter-Wright, Nolan Janeczko and Nate Rhee.
