Dow Parent Group

Charger Families,

We are excited to announce the formation of a new parent group at Dow High - the Dow Parent Advisory Committee (DPAC).  We have an Executive Board in place and we are ready to start up our group when school begins!

What is DPAC?  For families who are coming to Dow from Jefferson, DPAC is the Dow High equivalent to JPAC.  We consider it PTO-Lite.  Our primary goal is to enhance the educational facilities and opportunities for the students of H.H. Dow High School that are not otherwise provided for in the Midland Public Schools budgets. We will review Requests for Funds from teachers/staff at Dow High for items and events that will help as many students as possible. DPAC will not fund athletic-related requests (Booster Club is already set up for that) or music-related requests (Music Parents already have fundraisers in place). DPAC will fund things like science lab supplies, books for classroom libraries, field trip fees, etc.

We will have one cash drive fundraiser each year. Our official kickoff for this year's fundraiser is Parent-Teacher Conferences in October. However, we will happily accept donations starting now. We will have a table set up at schedule pick up and curriculum night. For your convenience, we will accept cash, checks, or credit cards. We are on our way to becoming a 501(c)(3) organization, so your donations will be tax deductible to the extent allowed by law (consult your tax preparer to determine allowability), and may be eligible for a company match by your employer.

As a Charger family, parents and guardians are welcome and encouraged to attend any and all DPAC meetings. Our first meeting is Tuesday, September 11th @ 11:30AM.

If you have any questions or want to become more involved, please contact Lisa Benter-Rich at dowhighdpac@gmail.com.

DHS Parents:
The journalism students are working to offer our first live stream of the honors assemblies happening this week. Using the links below, viewers can watch the honors assembly either as it is happening, or they can access it in the on-demand settings once the events are over. We are using the same company we use for our sports streaming.

We hope that this allows more friends and family to be a part of the celebration of the students.

2018 H. H. Dow High Graduation Information

May 24, 2018
4:30 P.M.
Great Lake Loons Stadium

2018 will be the first year that Midland Public Schools’ high school graduation ceremonies will be held at Dow Diamond (home of the Great Lakes Loons).

As this school year marches on, we will continue to unfold graduation ceremony details as they become available.

We now have the times set for the two high schools for the Thursday, May 24, ceremonies to be held at Dow Diamond:

H.H. Dow High Graduation: 4:30 p.m. <> Midland High Graduation: 7:30 p.m.

It is our plan to rotate the time of the school graduation ceremonies each year. We will continue to evaluate our graduation processes as we journey through the planning of the 2018 ceremonies.

(In case of inclement weather requiring the graduations to be held indoors, the ceremonies will be held in each high school’s gymnasium at the same time as previous years—7:00 p.m.)
