SAT and PSAT Testing Information

On September 23, seniors will take the SAT test and freshmen will take the PSAT. Sophomores and juniors will stay home and complete virtual activities assigned by their teachers.

 

We will test sophomores and juniors (PSAT) on October 14. Freshmen and seniors will stay home and complete virtual activities assigned by their teachers.

  

Testing room assignments for all students will be posted in the counseling google classrooms for each class. Access codes for each class are listed in the counseling newsletter. Room assignments will also be communicated to students in English classrooms as well.

 

After testing is complete, students will be dismissed for lunch. Following lunch, students will report back to their testing rooms. Students will then complete activities assigned by their fifth, sixth and seventh period teachers. Buses will arrive at our regular dismissal time.

A working calculator

A picture ID (for seniors)

Water

Snack (We highly recommend due to the length of the test)

  • We’re kicking off Fall with a Spirit Week, starting on Monday September 21st. For the Spirit Days, Monday is Lazy Day, Tuesday is Color Wars (Freshman wear Yellow, Sophomores wear Orange, Juniors wear Green, Seniors wear Black), Wednesday is the SAT so no Spirit Day, Thursday is Mismatch Day, and Friday is Charger Spirit. We can’t wait to see everyone rocking their Spirit Outfits next week!

 

  • Hey Chargers, do you think you’ve got school spirit?

  •  Well let’s see you prove it! All you have to do is participate in the Spirit Days next week, and email a picture of yourself in your Spirit Outfit to Emma Schultz or tag Student Leadership (@dowleadership) on Instagram. On Friday September 25th, Student Leadership will send out a google form with the pictures for students to vote for the winners. There will be two winners per grade who will receive a Spirit-Themed prize. 

 

 

 

There is a new club in store for everyone!!

 Dedicated to diseases, publishing and supporting research. It is the ONLY high school club associated with University of Michigan. It's GIDAS! Participate from the comfort of your own home. Our first meeting is Tuesday, the 22nd on zoom at 4:15. PLEASE ASK YOUR SCIENCE TEACHERS FOR MORE INFO.

NHS

Attention all prospective NHS applicants from LAST SPRING.  Please make sure to check your school email from Mr. Moore.  Your NHS documents are due, printed out, by Friday!  

Do you enjoy math and the thrill of competition? 

Math Club is the club for you! We prepare for and compete in various math competitions. Our meetings will be on Thursdays from 4-5 pm on Zoom. Email Mrs. White or Andrew Zhou if you are interested or have questions.

SPORTS

 

Freshmen girls vb won in straight sets over Carmen Ainsworth last night.  Digging leaders for the Chargers were Sydney Gushow-Reuter with 8, and Estelle Weise with 6.  Klaire Caldwell had 5 kills and Angela Mechling had 3.

Olivia Fernette handed out 8 assists.  Martina Lobo and Brynn Hanson both scored 5 aces, a piece.

 

Last night your JV Lady Charger Volleyball team defeated Flint Carmen Ainsworth in all 3 sets in their home opener.  Leading the way for the Chargers were: Libby Avery with 19 passes, Sydney Bond with 6 aces, Durri Barodowalla serving 100% and nailing 5 aces, Luci Fabiano, Aapril Ballor, and Bella Brown serving 100%, Sadie Martin and Jade Remacle with 3 aces each, Jessica Erickson with 5 kills and 3 blocks and Taylor Neuman with 2 kills and 3 blocks.  The Chargers play again on Thursday at home against Heritage.  

 

 

Varsity won in 3 against Carmen Ainsworth last night. 25-11, 25-11, 25-19. Cheka Queary led the team with 7 aces and 16 kills. Gabby Wilson had 8 kills. Taryn Williams had 7 kills. Alex Price led assists with 13. Anna Schalk led the team with digs at 13. Great game girls! Our next game is home against Heritage on Thursday. 

 

Girls Golf

 

Girls Golf split a pair of matches last night.  losing to Davison 188-194 and beating Lapeer 194-223.  Scoring for the Chargers were Abbey Ieuter 44, Paige Barnard 48, Anna Bradford 50, Erica Ludwick 52.  Next action Thursday at Flint Powers
