Hey Chargers, did you know that:

  • The average American consumes 167 bottles of water per year!!

  • 90% of the cost of bottled water is the bottle itself!!

  • 24,000,000 liters of oil are needed to produce these billions of plastic bottles!!

  • And every year, 38 million plastic bottles go into U.S. landfills!!

  • Bottling water and transporting it to market is the least energy-efficient method of water supply in the history of mankind!!

  • One survey, regarding carbon impact, estimates that even locally bottled water has a transportation footprint of 300 times that of tap water!!

So, come on Chargers, let's stop drinking bottled water, and start using refillable water bottles instead!!  It's one of the easiest and cheapest ways to reduce our environmental footprint!!

GO GREEN meets today at 3:30, in room 220. Join us...new faces and ideas are always welcome!
